Sonoran News is seeking donations to send to troops serving the country. Sanderson Lincoln and other local North Valley community businesses will act as donation locations.
Online PR News – 03-July-2013 – Phoenix, AZ – For the second year, local North Valley newspaper, Sonoran News, has published a Patriot Pride Supplement to commemorate American independence and to honor the country’s troops—active and veteran—and their families, recognizing them as the country’s true heroes. Readers of Patriotic Pride will find a list of recruiting locations for all branches of the military, as well as information about organizations serving the nation’s heroes.
This July, as part of Patriotic Pride, Sonoran News will be hosting a Packages From Home community service project. The goal is to provide troops with “packages from home” containing necessary and nonperishable food items. Local businesses, including Sanderson Lincoln, Sanderson Ford, Rural/Metro Fire Department, Scottsdale Fire Department, Parkway Bank, Wilhelm Automotive, and Airpark Collision Center, will be accepting food donations at their locations.
In addition, Sanderson Ford and Sanderson Lincoln have provided the donation boxes and fliers, and the Phoenix area dealerships will also be in charge of picking up and delivering all food collected during the month-long effort.
If you know someone currently serving in the Middle East, simply visit http://packagesfromhome.org, click on “Request a Package,” and fill out the form. The organization will gladly deliver a package to your loved one overseas.
