The San Diego Padres and Solar Alliance of America Promote Solar Energy in New Partnership

The largest residential-only solar contractor in San Diego, Solar Alliance of America, is teaming up with the San Diego Padres and two of their former players to promote solar energy in the region. The partnership will begin on July 1, 2013.

With the partnership, Solar Alliance of America will be offering two free tickets to San Diego Padres home games to each homeowner who completes a free solar estimate. Additionally, former Padres’ pitchers Randy Jones and Mark Grant will be promoting Solar Alliance of America on Fox Sports TV and The Mighty 1090 Sports Radio.

San Diego has been a hotbed for Solar Alliance of America residential solar electric system installations due its abundant sunshine. Solar Alliance of America was recognized as the largest residential-only solar contractor in San Diego by Solar Power World magazine in 2012. Solar Alliance of America also received the 45th position on the 2012 Inc. 500’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies.

Randy Jones won the MLB Cy Young Award in 1976 while playing for the Padres with a 22-14 record and a 2.74 ERA. Jones played eight seasons for the Padres and was a two-time all-star. In his post-baseball career, he has been inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions and currently contributes to the pre and post-game TV shows for the Padres.

Mark Grant is a color commentator for the Padres’ TV broadcasts. Grant pitched for the Padres for four seasons and retired from playing baseball in 1995. He also contributes to radio shows on XX Sports Radio and 100.7 JACK FM.

The Padres play in MLB’s NL West Division at Petco Park, located in downtown San Diego.
