Despite efforts to negotiate the renewal of it's license, it was rejected by the Limerick Milk Market Trustees (City and County Councillors and the Limerick Chamber of Commerce)."We are very sad that we will no longer ber able to serve and sell coffees to the thousands of loyal customers who have supported us over the past three years. We are currently looking for another location that will enable us to operate our business at least 6 days a week", says Jennifer Ryan, owner and founder of Ponaire Coffee Roastery.In May 2013 Pónaire was certified to roaste and sell Organic Coffee. THey have two Fairtrade Organic Coffees - a single origin Honduran and a single origin from Peru. And this week they just learned that Pónaire's European Espresso Blend that won Gold in 2011 has won again this year. Pónaire Connoisseur won Gold in 2009 and 2010, Pónaire Indian won 3 Gold in 2010, and in 2011 Pónaire Costs Rica Blend won Gold and Pónaire Brazil Fairtrade won 2 Gold.
