Future Atlantic Rowers in 180km Rowing Journey from Oxford to London

Team Atlantic Splash will row from Oxford to London between June 28th and 30th, as part of their preparation to row across the Atlantic and of their charity effort.

Online PR News – 24-June-2013 – Worthing, June 23rd 2013 – On Friday 28th June, Team Atlantic Splash will depart from Oxford City Rowing Club in a three-day, 120-mile journey to Tower Bridge, London. The five-man rowing crew and their boat Mission Atlantic will aim to complete their river-trip to the capital before 21:00 on Sunday 30th June.

This row, the longest faced by Team Atlantic Splash in their training so far, will test the ability of the crew-members to live and work together on board Mission Atlantic on the calm but bendy River Thames. The boys will be rowing, eating and sleeping on board their ocean-rowing boat, for what will be their biggest test since their successful row from Shoreham to the Isle of Wight last March.

The exact schedule of Team Atlantic Splash’s journey remains to be determined, but the progress will be divided following this outline.

28 June – Day 1 – Oxford to Reading Area
29 June – Day 2 – Henley on Thames to Shepperton Area
30 June – Day 3 – Sunbury on Thames to Tower Bridge, London

Exact times of arrival in particular towns and cities will be announced during the row via our Twitter (@AtlanticSplash) and Facebook (/TeamAtlanticSplash) accounts.

The team will be stopping at various venues along the way, and all invitations for functions, interviews or a refreshing pint of beer are welcome. The five-man crew will be delighted to tell you all about their Challenge to row across the Atlantic and the Charities they support. Please do not hesitate to contact them if you would like them to stop at your venue.

As “Missy” and her crew continue their journey down the Thames, they are also inviting all to take part in their Oxford to London Photo Competition and win a £150 Argos or Homebase voucher, a Bottle of Talisker Storm Whisky or one of two Team Atlantic Splash jumpers.
