Online PR News – 20-June-2013 – London – Staff at Jacob Fox, a Canary Wharf based estate agent helped to feed homeless people at the Whitechapel Mission.
17 June 2013, London – Jacob Fox, a Canary Wharf based estate agency specialising in flats to rent in Canary Wharf and property for sale in the Docklands area decided to give something back to their local community which was related to their sector.
The Whitechapel mission seemed the obvious charity for the link-up as it provides homeless people with showers, clothes and the opportunity to learn skills and receive support to help get them off the streets.
The day started at 5.45am on a Sunday morning preparing a cooked breakfast and making/serving over 400 cups of tea, and 600 cups of coffee.
During the morning, the volunteers gave out towels, soap, razors, shampoo and toothbrushes before closing the centre commencing the big clean-up which ended at 11.45am.
Sonny Sanger of Jacob Fox said ‘It is an important part of our ethos to give back to the local community, there is a great deal of poverty in Tower Hamlets that is glossed over by the influx of high rise office blocks and swanky apartments in the E14 area. Working with The Whitechapel Mission helped us to achieve our objective of helping homeless people.’
