Author Trey Watson releases book about growing native southeastern fruit and nut trees.
Online PR News – 20-June-2013 – Nacogdoches, Texas – Texas author Trey Watson recently released a new gardening book about growing native plants in the southeastern United States. The book, entitled Southern Bounty: How to Grow and Enjoy Southeastern Native Fruits and Nuts, is available on Amazon in both digital and print formats. The book provides gardeners in southeastern U.S. with information on the background, growth habit, propagation protocol, cultivation information, harvesting techniques, and harvest preservation ideas for more than a dozen native southeastern plants that produce edible fruits and nuts.
Watson, who is also the owner of Legg Creek Farm, LLC, a nursery specializing in fruit trees for the southern United States, says his purpose in writing the book was a simple one: to provide as much detail as he could in an easy-to-read format to help gardeners grow these plants. "Native plants are a pleasure to grow. And growing and propagating native fruit and nut bearing plants is extra rewarding," Watson commented.
The book includes additional details on the natural history of southern forests and detailed plant propagation information to assist gardeners with propagating native plants. "Some of these plants are getting harder to find in their native habitat," Watson stated. "I hope folks will be able to use this book to multiply some of these native plants."
The book is currently available from Amazon, but Watson says it will be available from Barnes and Nobles in the near future. The Kindle version of the book is available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CTSAEVQ
