The new updates reflect Teaity’s mission to help tea drinkers discover and experience new teas while coaxing the best flavors and aromas from them as possible. The site has a comprehensive list of teas from around the world, with new brands added on a regular basis. Users can search and select a specific tea and receive information about optimal brewing temperatures and steeping times. There is also a timing feature to alert members when their tea has reached its ideal steeping time even while searching the site for more tea information.
The most significant addition to be introduced to Teaity is “Brand Pages.” These brand centric results lists contain additional information on any given tea company, including how to contact them by phone, email, or on the web.
Visitors can now enjoy several enhancements to the individual tea pages. Theses pages now include:
• Ingredient Lists
• Centigrade temperatures (if provided by the brand)
• And leaf quantities in teaspoons and grams as recommended by the brands.
According to Chris Giddings, co-founder, “The single most important set of features new to Teaity are the ability to rate a tea and to keep tasting notes.” These features are exclusive to members only. A logged in member can rate a tea simply by filling in the “pips” for any of the criteria and can make notes that are either public or private.
