The Government has tried to reduce the ÂŁ2 billion spend by introducing new rules to legal aid, this will see the number of people who have previously been entitled to legal aid cut by over half in an attempt to save money.
At least 70% of family cases will no longer be applicable for legal aid. People on lower incomes and benefits will not as easily qualify as before and claimants who earn over ÂŁ14,000 will now struggle to be granted legal aid when it comes to circumstances such as divorce.
EMD Law LLP offer the fixed fee services to give clients the peace of mind of knowing the exact costs before starting a case. However should the client choose to pay by the hour then the option is still available.
