The Essex Bandquest results are in. Ipswich-based Death/ Metalcore act Echoes Fall have won the prize of a slot at Bloodstock.
Online PR News – 01-June-2010 – – From a field of around 200 unsigned metal bands and the prize of a slot at this year’s Bloodstock festival on the line, Ipswich-based death/metalcore act Echoes Fall are proud to have been selected to represent Essex on the Live & Unsigned stage.
With consistently high-quality performances, the band featuring guitarists Sebastian Cowie & Dex Jezierski, bassist Stu Bridges, drummer Gavin Chinnery and vocalist Jamie Bennett moved through the heats to the semi finals and eventually the final at the Edge Bar in Romford last night where they defeated nine other bands to earn their slot.
The Live & Unsigned Stage will be playing host to winners from all the Bandquest regions including Zocalo and Splintered Soul who took the Kent prize and the main stage will feature some of the top names in metal such as Fear Factory, Children of Bodom and Obituary. Echoes Fall will be in illustrious company and are determined not to disappoint.
Vocalist Jamie Bennett had this to say: “I couldn’t be happier with the way we performed and obviously the result. The whole competition’s been a lot of fun and we’ve got to play with some great bands like Silent Descent and Near Death Experiment. I’m so proud of the way the lads played and we can’t wait to play Bloodstock. Big thanks to all our families and friends and everyone else who’s supported us and the local scene.”
Echoes Fall are clearly a band on the rise and the Bloodstock slot is a huge opportunity for them to shine. The festival runs from the 13th to 15th of August at the Catton Hall, Walton-On-Trent in Derbyshire and there are still bands to be announced.
