The launch of a fresh weekend yoga event in September for those interested in health and the environment.
Online PR News – 07-June-2013 – 7 June 2013, London, UK – Today the collective of 3 UK based yoga teachers — Sandra Heider, Jambo Truong and Charlie Speller announced a brand new yoga event. ‘The Big Web’ will take place in Peterborough at Equilibrium Yoga, Sandra Heider’s studio, on 6-8 September 2013. The trio have created the event in response to the growing practice of Forrest Yoga throughout the UK and Europe and have attracted a number of esteemed teachers and speakers.
One of The Big Web founders, Charlie Speller, explains: “We felt that there needed to be a platform to bring the modalities of yoga — specifically Forrest Yoga, body psychotherapy, bodywork therapies, Shamanic healing, global consciousness and sustainability together. We were keen and inspired to weave our own contribution into the global web too… so instead of waiting for someone else to do it, we created the platform!”
At the heart of The Big Web Yoga Weekend is a very clear concept: As part of nature we are a changing system within other changing systems. Deeply interconnected, we — and the world around us — are never static. This yoga event explores those ever-changing connections: How we relate to ourselves, to others and our surroundings. It also promises to investigate the dance of interdependence between each of these — the interplay between the environment and us, plus how physical and emotional pain is often created as a resistance to change and an attachment to the status quo.
Co-founder, Sandra Heider adds: “We have a fantastic line up of teachers and speakers that will help all attendees really get to grips with these topics and challenges. Our own teacher, the inspiring Ana Forrest — Medicine Woman, Creatrix of Forrest Yoga and author of the highly acclaimed book Fierce Medicine — will open the event and lead 3 workshops that will blow people away.”
The event also boasts sessions from well respected senior Shaman, Esther Lim, who will connect attendees to Earth via the ancient Medicine ways, and one of the UK’s most influential sustainability experts, Dr Ian Tennant. He will talk on subjects such as Gaia: Personal and Planetary Health. Together with some exceptional Forrest Yoga teachers from across Europe — Bessy Trigka, Alexandra Sagorz-Zimmerl, Jambo Truong, Sandra Heider and Charlie Speller — attendees will leave exhilarated and inspired.
“This is no ordinary yoga event and we are excited by what we can pack into two and a half days! Attendees will be able to simply ‘be’ and connect to their true self. They’ll get the opportunity to get curious about what holds them back, physically and emotionally and takes steps to break free of these patterns. And importantly we hope to help them find their own balance by attuning to the natural syntheses of life.” Adds co-founder, Jambo Truong.
In addition to the exciting array of workshops throughout the weekend, there will be an evening Fire Ceremony and BBQ on Saturday 7 September, plus a small marketplace showcasing a carefully selected range of brands.
Ticket information: Tickets for The Big Web go on Sale on Thurs 6 June 2013 and will be launched in increments. The First 25 tickets to the whole weekend are £180 — incredible value.
Full price tickets are £220 for the weekend, £135 for a day-pass and £45 for Friday night only. Places are extremely limited.
The Big Web trio concluded: “Individually, we are strong practitioners, strong teachers, strong leaders, but when we get together to share knowledge or teach, magic happens. We believe that we are all better when we’re connected to each other, which is why we want to connect you to The Big Web too.”
