Inventory control system for healthcare providers that simplifies management of radiation protection garments now used nationwide.
Online PR News – 05-June-2013 – Newport News – NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia – Burlington Medical Supplies (BMS) and its partner, ODIN, have announced the full implementation of the Burlington Apron Inventory Management System (BAIMS). The radio frequency identification (RFID) system was first launched six months ago and is available through BurmedID, a division of BMS.
The system allows healthcare providers to efficiently identify, organize and manage radiation protection garments such as x-ray aprons for multiple departments using cutting-edge technology.
"The BAIMS RFID inventory management system has been successfully implemented in many large teaching hospitals and healthcare systems throughout North America," said Steve Porter, president of BurmedID.
Healthcare providers participating in the launch include Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Massachusetts General, Ohio State, University of Maryland, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Healthcare and Bon Secours.
"The BAIMS system has allowed us to finally organize, inventory and track all of our lead aprons," said Bill Vicinanza, director of Imaging, HCA Healthcare, Clear Lake Regional. "We have found the system to be user-friendly and the website tools to be extremely helpful. BAIMS has given us the confidence when inspectors come."
"ODIN is pleased to be partnering with Burlington to provide RFID solutions. Our Intelligent Asset Management (IAM) and Easy ID platforms provide Burlington with the ability to deliver seamless inspection and inventory control to their customers," said Patrick O'Bright, chief operating officer. "ODIN provides its clients with tracking, monitoring and data collection solutions for any type of critical asset such as lead aprons, IV pumps or even staff and patient tracking."
