The Chief Steward and lead analyst at Storage Switzerland, George Crump, will be sharing his industry insider views of the impact of SSDs in the data center.
Online PR News – 05-June-2013 – Rohnert Park – San Jose, CA, June 05, 2013 -- George Crump, Chief Steward and founder of Storage Switzerland, will deliver a presentation on the latest trends in data center adoption of SSDs. Srini Srinivasan brings a different focus as co-founder of the first flash-optimized database, Aerospike. The presentations are slated for the first meeting of the Silicon Valley-based Meetup, Database Meets SSD. The Meetup provides an interface for people interested in the impact of flash memory and database acceleration. Attendees will also learn from a case study, presenter TBD.
The group was founded by a partnership between Stein Writes, Inc., a high-tech marketing consultancy and the ExecEvent. Greg Duplessie, CEO, founded the ExecEvent as a venue for industry insiders to meet, learn, and interact without the distractions of large trade shows. Lee Stein founded Stein Writes, Inc. because he recognized the need for marketing-oriented communications and marketing-driven content for high-tech clients.
Although the format of the Silicon Valley Database Meets SSD Meetup may vary, initial meetings will feature a technical speaker from the host sponsor, an industry analyst providing the latest updates, and a case study delivered by a database user when possible. The initial Meetup has already been scheduled and will take place at the offices of Skyera Inc., 1704 Automation Parkway, San Jose on the evening of June 20, 2013 beginning at 6 PM.
According to Lee Stein, “We started this Meetup because so few flash memory providers really understood and communicated benefits of interest to the IT user. In every discussion with data center pros, they consistently state that their biggest problem as an enterprise is database acceleration.”
In discussing the ExecEvent’s partnership, Greg Duplessie said, “The fact that in less than two weeks, nearly 100 industry professionals became members of the Meetup and over 50 have sent RSVPs confirms that we have identified a real need.” Industry professionals interested in participating, please visit the Meetup page (www.meetup.com/db-speed-sv) to become a member.
