The leading Key West diving and snorkeling center, the Key West Dive Center, is offering summer scuba diving certification courses taught by their expert and PADI-certified staff of Key West natives
Online PR News – 31-May-2010 – – This summer, take the opportunity to get your Open Water scuba certification in one of the country's premier scuba diving destinations, Key West Florida. With an expert team of PADI-certified dive instructors, the Key West Dive Center is the best way to go about making your reservations for a full Open Water certification course or an Open Water Referral course.
The Key West Dive Center is one of Key West's leading reservations and information center for Key West scuba diving and Key West snorkeling. The center runs daily scuba diving and snorkeling trips, but they also offer Key West's best and most thorough scuba diving certification courses. Taking students out to four different areas of the massive and diverse coral reef ecosystem off the coast of the island, divers getting their certification in Key West have much to their advantage.
The Open Water certification course is the basic scuba diving certification, allowing divers who finish the full certification course to dive in waters anywhere in the world of up to 60 feet without a guide. This basic certification course is made up of a full day of lecture, bookwork and exams followed by scuba diving training in a pool setting, which is followed by four "check-out" dives where students will go on a total of four scuba diving trips on a span of two days.
The center also has the Referral courses, giving students the option of completing the bookwork portion of the course in their hometown or on the internet. This allows students to complete the course in a matter of two or three days while in Key West.
"Summer is a great time to get certified in Key West," says Tom Guissepe of the Key West Dive Center. "The water is warm, the fish are extremely active, and the winter-time crowds are gone."
Key West diving offers a variety of diving destinations, ranging from the massive USS Vandenberg shipwreck to over a dozen excellent coral reef dive sites.
