Online PR News – 01-June-2013 – California – June 1, 2013/California, USA: Friendship Tours World Travel is organizing an educational travel tour to Cambodia-Cambodia Alive! Tour.

The Cambodia Alive! Tour, which starts from July 6 till July 21 is a two-week journey and will cover all of Cambodia’s main attractions. The aim of the educational travel tour is to provide students an opportunity to have a deeper look into the country’s history and emerging cultural renaissance through meaningful exchanges with the local NGO partners.

Throughout the Cambodia Alive! Tour students will be made to reflect upon the people, culture, customs, and history that this diverse nation boasts of. Students will interact with living historians who would provide a diverse spectrum of war-time testimonials. Interactions with the first and second-hand generation survivors will enable students understand the Khmer Rouge genocide in a much better manner.

The educational travel program would let students explore the history of Cambodia at the local, regional, and global levels. They would be able to experience the rich cultural heritage of Cambodia and would analyze innovative ideas for social and entrepreneurial opportunities. After coming back from the educational field trip, Friendship Tours World Travel strongly believes that students will emerge as more attuned and ethical citizens of our world community.

The tour will initiate from Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital, where students volunteer time with the Atlanta School and Cambodian Living Arts. Here, students will get a first hand experience of learning about Cambodia’s living history and troubled past with thoughtful visits to national museums, the notorious Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Prison. Students will continue on their discovery of Cambodia’s complex past and transcendent spirit with an exploration at the awe-inspiring Khmer Temples located outside Siem Reap. Sunrise visits to the famous Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom and Bayon temple complexes would be life-changing experiences for students. In Siem Reap, students learn about ongoing munitions removal issues with an insider’s visit to the Cambodian Landmine Museum and Orphan School.

The trip will culminate in a very interesting note-cultural exchange with pen pals from the Caring for Cambodia School to provide students with a unique opportunity of experiential education and cultural exchange.

During the trip, students will be provided with accommodation, travel insurance, private transportation by A/C coach, professional educator supervision and instruction, English speaking guide, water and first aid.
