Best-Selling Author James Patterson to hold book-signing at the Third Annual Elant Golf Open July 15

The Elant Foundation's Annual Elant Golf Open July 15 will feature two special guests: James Patterson, America’s No. 1 best-selling author, and Robert Reiss, author and host of The CEO Show, a nationally syndicated business radio show.

This year’s event, presented by Med-World Pharmacy, an Omnicare Company, is open to the public and will feature two special guests: James Patterson, America’s No. 1 best-selling author, and Robert Reiss, author and host of The CEO Show, a nationally syndicated business radio show.

Proceeds from this year’s golf open will benefit Elant’s sub-acute and rehabilitation programs, which provide comprehensive, in-patient care for those recovering from an acute illness or injury following a hospital stay. Over the past two years, Elant’s supporters have helped renovate a significant portion of Elant’s rehabilitation units, and allowed for the purchase of new therapy equipment.

“The support we’ve received from our communities has gone a long way in helping Elant make strides in its sub-acute care and rehabilitation offerings, and we are incredibly grateful,” said Nick Lanza, Elant senior vice president of Operation. “Elant is committed to staying ahead of innovations in therapy techniques and equipment, and the generous contributions collected through our Golf Open help assure that we are always offering the very best care possible to our patients.”

The format of this year’s event is a scramble of four players. Prizes will be awarded for: team low score, closest to the pin, longest drive, putting contest winner, and most valuable player. The entry fee per player is $200 and includes lunch, dinner, cocktails, golf car, prizes, and a complimentary James Patterson book. For non-golfers interested in attending the dinner only, the cost is $75 per person. Every attendee of the dinner will have the opportunity to enjoy a book signing by Patterson.

Event day registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 am and tee-off time at 12:30 p.m. Following the play of golf, a cocktail hour will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a dinner reception at 6 pm. Book signings with both Patterson and Reiss will start at 5:30 p.m.

Patterson, who has sold more than 16 million books in 2009 and has more than 170 million books in print, is the first author to have No. 1 titles simultaneously on both the New York Times best selling adult and children’s lists. He also holds The New York Times bestsellers list record with 54 bestselling books.
