Online PR News – 13-May-2013 – Greenville, NC – MHAworks recently completed renovations to East Carolina University's Office of Faculty Excellence and University Writing Center, relocated to the Joyner Library. ECU faculty and staff attended the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, May 3 to commemorate this renovated space.
Peter Hans, UNC Board of Governors Chairman, noted, “Initiatives like the ones you’re taking here are steps in the right direction, and we support it, particularly the creative reconfiguration of the space.”
MHAworks’ relocation, renovation and design of the offices provide training and learning environments for staff and students and exemplify the spirit of ECU. These education and support programs will greatly impact the faculty, staff and students.
ECU Chancellor Dr. Steve Ballard stated, “The Office of Faculty Excellence, the University Writing Program, and the University Writing Center all help us further this absolutely vital central competency, that is true across employer surveys, that they want to see in our graduates. I think we are making huge contributions to our students and their success as we open these offices and continue to move forward on the quality enhancement programs.”
MHAworks completed the design in April of 2013. The Office of Faculty Excellence holds the faculty training and recruitment resource offices. The University Writing Center supports student-writing development through one-on-one tutorial interactions and peer response groups.
