PDSI uses their construction management skills to assemble furniture – adding to the coffers of the local Furniture Bank

Online PR News – 09-May-2013 – atlanta,ga – Every quarter PDSI brings its employees together and dedicates a day to create positive change in our local neighborhoods. On Wednesday March 13th the PDSI team gathered in Atlanta and spent the day building furniture for “The Furniture Bank”, a local charity that distributes furniture to families in need in the Atlanta area.

The Furniture Bank’s mission is to recycle used and overstocked furniture and give it to people who are trying to escape homelessness, fleeing from domestic violence and / or are living with HIV/AIDS and are moving into homes but need help to establish themselves. The Furniture Bank helps over 3,000 people each year and recycles over 420 tons of furniture that might otherwise have gone to a landfill in metro Atlanta. Every family in need is guaranteed a minimum of a bed for every member of their household and a sofa.

PDSI is committed to improving the communities in which it works through service projects which effect change and promote an environment wherein people can thrive. By providing beds for sleeping, tables for sharing meals, and couches for relaxing the Furniture Bank helps clients gain a sense of ownership and confidence. These values follow with PDSI’s mission: “To bring Value through Solid and Innovative solutions from an environment where our Clients, Employees and Communities flourish.”
