Introducing Newark Fashion Week International 2013

What: Newark’s inaugural fashion week is being launched by the Newark Fashion Week Group LLC in collaboration with the Urban League of Essex County. Newark Fashion Week-International will take place in the fall of 2013. This 4-day week of events will include a number of activities including a cocktail party, an honoring ceremony, fashion shows, scavenger hunt, trunk shows, fashion business development workshops, youth mentoring workshops, a fashion design contest, model training workshops open to the all member of the community and aspiring models. The workshops will teach basic model techniques including photography, runway, and posing techniques. Night of glam; this lavish night of “Glam” fun shopping extravaganza will feature an array of premier clothing, right off the runway. Salons will host mini makeover specials, restaurants will host wine and food tasting, and stores will hand out raffle tickets to shoppers spending up-words of $25.00. This will be open to the public.
Who: Newark Fashion Week Group wants everyone to participate in Fashion Week. There are several ways for everyone to participate:
• Creative Talent: Fashion Designers, Models, Musicians, Make-up Artists, Hairstylists, Tailors, etc.
• Business Talent: Young fashion entrepreneurs who sell and buy fashion and novelty items.
• Social Services: Agencies who are interested in offering support.
• Sponsors: Corporations that seek to support the development of the Newark larger community.
When: September 18th through 21st 2013
Where: The fashion shows and other events will be held at various locations downtown Newark.
• Banquet halls.
• Night clubs.
How: All activities associated with NFW-I will be organized and managed by Newark Fashion Week Group LLC and a host of volunteers and consultants. This group of people has a great deal of experience in all phases of the fashion industry including design, talent management, and large-scale event planning.
