The Ford Fund is set to donate $1 million to the College for Creative Studies.
Online PR News – 09-May-2013 – Frankfort, Kentucky – Ford Motor Company has dived once again into its Ford Fund to help the youth of American succeed in the workforce. The automaker plans to donate one million dollars to one of the world’s leading art and design colleges, the College for Creative Studies (CCS), in an effort to future Ford engineers and designers. The money will be used to provide educational opportunities to Detroit youth, according to Crossroads Ford.
The one million dollar donation will be granted to the school over the course of five years and will be used to establish the Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies, create the College and Career Transitions Office at CCS, and start a Ford Blue Oval Scholarship fund for graduates from the Henry Ford Academy to attend CCS.
The Henry Ford Academy is a public charter middle and high school that specializes in creative studies and design. The students that attend this school are preparing for a future at CCS. This innovative school was created as a partnership between CCS and the Henry Ford Learning Institution. This year marks the graduation of the very first class from the Henry Ford Academy.
Ford continues to show support for art and design education because that education is the very future of the automotive business. Ford hopes to create individuals that will be able to continue the company’s great work in creating vehicles throughout the world. Ford has also created an automotive design club at CCS to further this commitment.
