Jim Ellis Volkswagen will be featuring the iBeetle, the first fully iPhone integrated car, in their Marietta dealership in early 2014.
Online PR News – 08-May-2013 – Atlanta, GA – Two iconic products, the Volkswagen Beetle and the Apple iPhone, are coming together to create the first ever iPhone integrated car. The new iBeetle was debuted at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show proving that technology can go one step further to full in-car integration. The new iBeetle will be rolling into Jim Ellis Volkswagen in early 2014.
For those customers who already own a Beetle, don’t worry you will still be able to use some of the iBeetle functions. Customers can acquire the iBeetle interface by either downloading the app or purchase the iBeetle or iBeetle Convertible where the feature comes standard. The iBeetle will have a designated docking station for the iPhone 5. The phone will snap into the dock and automatically be integrated with the Beetle.
Of course, the usual iPhone functions will be available for use such as navigation, hands-free calling, music access and many others. In addition to these features, the iBeetle app will offer some extra benefits. These include functions like Spotify, Expert, Trainer, Reader, Postcard, and Milestone. The Expert function transforms the iPhone into an extended instrument which can read the Beetles acceleration, oil level, coolant temperature, and will function as a chronometer and a compass.
The Trainer is used to compare different routes such as drive time, distances, and fuel economy. These items can be posted to social media sites as well. The Reader will read aloud a variety of different messages from the iPhone and other social media sites. The Postcard function will send a digital postcard of the Beetle and its location to the driver’s friends. When certain tasks have been reached or completed, the app will send “milestone stickers” to the iPhone.
The iBeetle will also be customized with special edition iBeetle features. It will have 18-inch “Disc” alloy wheels, the iBeetle signature, iBeetle chrome badges, and a Chrome pack. It will be offered in a variety of iPhone inspired colors, “Candy White”, “Oryx White Mother of Pearl Effect”, “Black Monochrome”, “Deep Black Pearl Effect”, “Platinum Grey”, or “Reflex Silver”.
The iBeetle is the first car ever to feature an integrated iPhone interface. For more information about the iBeetle or other Volkswagen products, customers can contact Jim Ellis Volkswagen. Customers should keep a look out for the iBeetle; it should be featured in the Jim Ellis Volkswagen showroom at the beginning of next year.
