The book will now get a second life in the capable hands of Jacquelyn Mitchard who is looking to bring quality Young Adult fiction to the market with Merit Press. William Hazelgrove who always believed Ripples would do fine if it could find a wider market is very pleased with the sale. "Your first novel is your baby and when Jacquelyn said she will get it in every bookstore and library in the country I believed her. Ripples did very well even with the small press it started with. We had an order from a chain for thirty five hundred books before we even had gone to print." But the book never did get the broad distribution it needed to reach the bigger YA market. "I'm just happy to see it have a second birth.
