Key West's leading center for information and reservations for Dry Tortugas day trips is gearing up for one of the busiest weekends of the year this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend with spots on both ferries and the seaplanes almost completely sold out

Online PR News – 25-May-2010 – – The Dry Tortugas Information Center, Key West's leading tour and information center for all kinds of Dry Tortugas excursions, is gearing up for one of the year's busiest weekends in Key West and the Dry Tortugas. This upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, thousands of holiday travelers from all over the country will descend on Key West Florida for a weekend of fun in the warm Key West sun. Trips out to the Dry Tortugas on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are quickly filling up seats with travelers eager to experience the unique islands of the Dry Tortugas.

The Dry Tortugas day trips and camping trips are some of the most popular and sought-after activities in Key West. During Key West's busy season, the two ferries that transport up to 200 travelers daily sell out seats days in advance. Camping spots are even more exclusive with only 12 campers allowed to travel to the islands on the ferries each day, and sell out weeks in advance.

For this weekend, camping has been sold out for days, but the Dry Tortugas Information Center says that people hoping to camp on the busy weekend should still call to check for availability as there is oftentimes cancellations that free up spots. The day trips during the weekend still have some spots available, but Dry Tortugas Info says they are filling up fast.

"It's one of the most exciting times of the year to visit Key West and to go out to the Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson," says Kayla Leeds of the Dry Tortugas Information Center. "The weather is perfect during this time of the year and it's also one of the best times of the year for bird watching out in the Tortugas or for Key West snorkeling."

The Dry Tortugas Information Center also just started offering the new Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson seaplanes, that hold up to 10 passengers and run half-day and full-day excursions out to the islands, providing guests with a fully narrated sightseeing tour on the journey out to the islands.

If you are coming to Key West this Memorial Day weekend and are hoping to see the country's most unique national park, call the Dry Tortugas Information Center as soon as possible to check availability and reserve your spots on one of the two ferries or on the seaplanes.
