Cumberland Toyota of Cookeville, Tennessee, Completes Annual Charity Challenge
Online PR News – 03-May-2013 – Cookeville – During the month of April, local Cookeville, Tennessee, dealership, Cumberland Toyota, held its annual Charity Challenge event. Fans could vote once daily until April 25, 2013, for their favorite charity. On the 25th, the top four charities were announced.
The winning charities included A Time 4 Paws, Mustard Seed Ranch, the Miss Fabulous Pageant, and the East 52 Volunteer Fire Department. The other charities in the top ten included Kids Putnam, Heart of the Cumberland, the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation, the Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center, the McMinnville Warren County Senior Center, and Structured Athletics for Challenged Children.
The dealership expressed gratitude to all those involved in the nominating and voting processes, but the recipient charities showed the deepest gratitude of all.
“Donations made to the organization through the Cumberland Toyota Charity Challenge will help by supporting the day-to-day operations and expenses associated with the pageant. We will be holding the 3rd annual Miss Fabulous Pageant on Nov. 9, 2013 in Cookeville, TN,” stated Gay Ann Hill, representative of the Miss Fabulous Pageant.
James King, chief of the East 52 Volunteer Fire Department, mentioned that, “Cumberland Toyota’s donation of $2,500 from the Charity Challenge will go a long way towards helping our small department pay off the debt from repairing the pump in our fire engine. The repairs were originally funded by an $11,000 loan and these funds will go a long way towards paying it off.”
“The funds donated by Cumberland Toyota through the Charity Challenge will make it possible for us to take the children on their first vacation,” said Tammy Depperschmidt, Executive Director of the Mustard Seed Ranch. “We have two families here, a girls home and a boys home, and we will be providing additional funds so that each group can have $1,500 for their trip. We are very grateful to the community for supporting us and to Cumberland Toyota for providing the opportunity and the increased visibility through the Charity Challenge.”
Karen McMeekin, president and founder of A Time 4 Paws, said, “As a no-kill animal welfare organization, A Time 4 Paws has suffered from a shortage of kennels in our adoption facility. The donations that we will be receiving through the Cumberland Toyota Charity Challenge will help our facility by funding two new kennels so that we can save more local animals. We are so happy to have received these funds that we also plan to commission a plaque and name the added kennels after Cumberland Toyota.”
