About Joe’s Real BBQ
Joe’s Real BBQ opened for business in January of 1998. On the first day, they served over 1,000 customers and business has remained strong ever since. For more than 12 years, they have remained true to their motto… “Clean, Delicious, and Friendly.” There have been a few changes over time – the original “retail market” became an ice cream stand and, later, additional seating, while an additional covered patio was added to the north. The annual Customer Appreciation Free Lunch in May was started in 2000 and expanded to include dinner a couple of years later. This has become one of Gilbert’s largest social events, bringing thousands to enjoy a meal in the heart of the Heritage District. Joe’s continues to be a family owned and operated restaurant. The owners all live in Gilbert and are proud to be a part of the growing community. Their sister restaurant, Joe’s Farm Grill, has been featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network.
