Online PR News – 25-April-2013 – Hazlehurst, GA – Buick has just announced their first five recipients of the 2013 Buick Achievers Scholarship Program. Every year, 100 U.S. high school and undergraduate college students are awarded up to $25,000 in scholarships by the General Motors Foundation. These students demonstrate outstanding work in the classroom, as well as hard work in the community, and are rewarded with annual scholarship money by Buick each year. Buick Achievers was founded in 2011 as one of the largest scholarship programs in the industry. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years with one additional year available if students are in a five-year engineering program. To date, Buick Achievers has proudly awarded over 2,100 students $12 million in scholarship money.
“The combination of academic achievement and community leadership exhibited by these Buick Achievers underscores the core values of this scholarship,” explains Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president, Buick Marketing. “Supporting students interested in a STEM major or career is essential for growth in our industry and we applaud these future innovators and leaders for their commitment.”
