Online PR News – 12-April-2013 – Box, Wiltshire, UK – Interest is high in a luxurious new Wiltshire care home following its official opening on 22-23 March. Brunel House Care Home in Box near Corsham is the latest development to be created by the award-winning Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) in co-operation with capital partner MedicX Healthfund, and was officially opened by Phil Burgan, Chairman and CEO of the group along with special guests Mr and Mrs Hutchinson; a local couple, who are highly decorated for bravery during the war.
Over 300 visitors turned out to celebrate the opening of the new residence, which is situated on The Wharf, near Brunel’s famous Box tunnel. The care home specialises in providing nursing, dementia nursing and respite care for up to 65 elderly residents. As part of the open day, prospective residents and their families were given a VIP tour of the care home’s facilities and beautifully landscaped gardens, and had the opportunity to speak to MMCG founder Phil Burgan as well as members of Brunel House’s care team, senior management and even an Isambard Brunel impersonator, who the home was originally named after! The special family event on Saturday 23 March featured entertainment, craft sessions and sweets galore for all the children in attendance.
Brunel House offers five-star accommodation – each room is en-suite and decorated to a luxurious hotel standard with high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Facilities include; a cinema room, hair and beauty salon, coffee lounge, dining rooms and sumptuous lounge areas. And, although the open day is over, there is still time to book in for a private tour.
Phil Burgan, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Maria Mallaband Care Group says: “Brunel House Care Home is the latest offering in our range of five-star, hotel quality, care homes. We improve with every new home we build and I am particularly proud of what we have achieved at Box, Wiltshire, with what has been a challenging development.
“Our Home Manager, Emma Murphy, has brought some of her key team members with her and, together, they will form the nucleus of the outstanding care team that we are currently building.
“Jill Shearer, Senior Operations Manager for our new projects, has done a brilliant job in co-ordinating all aspects of the home opening; we have our first residents joining us the week after our launch and a significant number joining us thereafter.
“Finally, many thanks to one of our capital partners, MedicX Healthfund, for their help and support with this project, the third of four projects we have undertaken with them. MMCG currently owns 57% of its total portfolio and, while we intend to maintain this ratio by funding some future projects in a more traditional way, it is also important to supplement our growth with quality external partners such as MedicX.
“Our value brand, Countrywide Care Homes, was initially a portfolio of 36 leased, former Southern Cross assets. However, now that the turnaround of that portfolio is starting to mature, we are gradually negotiating the freehold purchases of those assets and indeed expect to complete on the first six within the near future. Our aim is to achieve an owned/leased ratio of assets similar to MMCG within the foreseeable future.”
