Megan E. Henderson Selected As Panelist For North Carolina State University’s Public Relations Day

Energetic Entrepreneur Addresses Strategic Communications and Branding

Online PR News – 10-April-2013 – RALEIGH, N.C. – RALEIGH, N.C. — On Thursday, April 11, 2013, North Carolina State University (NCSU) will host Public Relations Day (PR Day). PR Day is an annual informational and networking event that gives aspiring public relations students from NCSU and surrounding colleges and universities the opportunity to learn from and connect with the Raleigh public relations professional community. Megan E. Henderson, owner and lead visionary of Looking Glass Communications, Inc. (LGC), a seven-year-old Raleigh-based public relations and creative firm, will serve as a panelist at PR Day. This year will mark Henderson’s fourth time serving as a panelist.

A PR veteran, Henderson has been asked to participate in the strategic communications panel session, addressing branding and skill sets necessary for success in marketing, public relations and advertising. According to Henderson, she plans to share some of the lessons learned throughout her 18 years of experience that enabled her to become a successful small business owner during the most challenging economic climate.

“I could not imagine doing anything else. Helping other people realize their dreams and achieve success through public relations makes every day rewarding,” says Henderson. “This event is an opportunity for me to encourage and inspire young people to stay the path to become successful practitioners, because what we do as PR professionals matters.”

LGC, founded in 2006, celebrates its seventh year in business this month. LGC offers small, medium and large companies and organizations business strategies, branding, public relations and creative marketing solutions. The client list of LGC includes: Waste Industries USA, Inc., Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Kramden Institute and Novozymes North America. Henderson attributes her success to her team’s ability to provide clients with valuable services to help them maintain and/or establish brand support.

This event is meaningful to Henderson as she is a former student of the university. “As an NC State alumna who graduated in the communications curriculum, I am honored to be a part of PR Day 2013,” says Henderson. “It’s exciting to get back on campus, impart my experiences to up and coming PR practitioners and meet some of tomorrow’s leaders. Who knows, I might even meet the next LGC employee.”
