Online PR News – 08-April-2013 – Bangkok, Thailand – The 4th World Anesthesia Convention (NWAC 2013), the premier educational forum for anesthesiology professionals, is pleased to confirm the participation of four experts from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore (KKH), as speakers at the upcoming convention. Leading experts in the field of Women’s Anaesthesia, Professor Alex SIA Tiong Heng, Dr Farida ITHNIN, Assistant Professor SNG Ban Leong , and Dr Sean Brian YEOH Hann from KKH’s Department of Women’s Anaesthesia will share experiences and challenges in the Anesthetic management of complex Obstetric cases. The team, who also hold teaching appointments in two leading medical schools in Singapore, will also be conducting a full-day Master "Core" Training Workshop on Combined Obstetric Resuscitation and Emergencies.
Professor Alex SIA Tiong Heng
Professor Sia is the Chairman of the Medical Board of KKH. He is also the Director of the hospital’s KK Research Centre. He plays an active role in the education of medical students and residents in his capacity as Professor, Duke NUS Graduate Medical School. In January 2012, he was appointed Senior Associate Dean for the SingHealth-Duke-NUS Academic Medicine partnership in Singapore. As Senior Associate Dean, he is the hospital’s senior leader responsible for formulating policies and strategic directions to promote academic pursuits.
Dr Farida ITHNIN
Dr Farida Ithnin is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Women’s Anaesthesia, KKH. Her main area of interest is Obstetric Anaesthesia, being actively involved in clinical, education and management aspects of the specialty for many years. She is the Associate Program Director for SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program in Singapore, and Supervisor of Training for Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. She also actively mentors elective medical students from the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
Assistant Professor SNG Ban Leong
Dr SNG Ban Leong is a Consultant in the Department of Women’s Anaesthesia, KKH. He is an Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and a Core Faculty and Mentor in the Clinician-Scientist Residency Track of the Singhealth Anaesthesiology Residency Programme. He recently completed a Masters in Clinical Investigation and Fellowship in Pain Medicine.
Dr Sean Brian YEOH Hann
Dr Sean Yeoh is an Associate Consultant at the Department of Women’s Anaesthesia, KKH. He holds teaching appointments with Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School, of Medicine, National University of Singapore, as well as the SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program, in Singapore.
