The eval kit includes the adapter PCB with the soldered IC, four magnet holders with different shaft diameters, and the Allen key to fix the magnet holder on the shaft.
There are two eval kits available, The AS5048A eval kit is configured for SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) output signal, and the AS5048B eval kit is prepared for I2C interface and also PWM output signal. The AS5048 is unlike other magnetic position sensors on the market because the zero position can be programmed into the IC after assembly via simple SPI or I2C command, which eliminates the need for a special programmer. This feature makes the AS5048 even easier to implement in microcontroller-based designs for rotary position sensing.

Applications include robotics (motor control and joint position detection), industrial (motor position and motion control, potentiometer), and medical (surgical robots, injection pumps, fitness equipment).
