ExpoAir recently launched ‘Expo Pavilion’, a budget friendly colonial style lodge for travelers looking for comfortable accommodation in the war-free zone of Jaffna, north of Sri Lanka. Conveniently located on the A9 route, Expo Pavilion is a tastefully decorated lodge which offers modern amenities and delicious meals.
Online PR News – 20-May-2010 – – ExpoAir recently announced the launch of “Expo Pavilion” offering finest accommodation in Jaffna. Ideally positioned on the famous A9 Route on the Kandy Road, Expo Pavilion is a perfect location for anyone wishing to spend time in the city of Jaffna. Amongst the first guest was none other than renowned Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya.
“Jaffna is struggling, kicking and fighting back to life, with Expo Pavilion, there is new life in the city” said Cwerman Ralph – US Senate during a recent visit to Sri Lanka.
The Pavilion which is a lovely colonial house offers 7 large air-conditioned bedrooms with attached baths and with over 50 TV Dish channels to choose from. Four of the bedrooms are located in the main house and 3 in the adjoining building. For those looking for complete privacy and the experience of natural ambience could opt for these 3 rooms which have private verandas overlooking the A9 Road.
One of the early guests John Yoccoumis, UN World Travel Organization Consultant said, “to be able to come back to Jaffna after 32 years is a stroke of good luck. To have found a place like Expo Pavilion has been truly a blessing, as it is such a wonderful little place…! They have done an excellent job and my best of wishes goes to the excellent staff”
The tastefully decorated rustic interior, the vibrant color themes of Barefoot Fabrics and soothing soft lighting projects an extremely relaxing setting and atmosphere, which none would resist. The lounge and restaurant areas are a pleasure with furniture stained in Oakwood colour, the mustard painted walls are adorned with attractive abstract oil paintings and with the morning sunlight streaming through the elegant sheer curtaining. Exquisite pieces of brass and copper antiques in varying shapes and sizes are well blended right throughout the Pavilion, commencing from the garden. The driveway to Expo Pavilion is lined by yesteryears doors and door frames which is a feast for the eyes.
Juliet Coombe, BBC lonely Planet, Travel photographer & Writer of ‘Around the Fort IN 80 lives’, wrote “Expo Pavilion is unique in all of Sri Lanka. I have never met such a special team, the Island may be full of Sri Lanka’s gems, but the staff at Expo is truly the crown jewels, and the food is a credit of Jaffna cuisine”
The in-house restaurant which is presently restricted to in-house guests offers simple food and features local rice and curry, delicious Jaffna specialties and Chinese Cuisine. It is served by friendly and gracious waiters, rather than the impersonal buffet arrangements. Any request for dining from outsiders will be taken on prior reservations. Confirmation of reservations for dining will be based on the Pavilion occupancy as we do not intend to infringe on the privileges and privacy of our guests.
WI FI facilities are presently available at the Pavilion, and the hotel has plans to provide a conference room and a private air-conditioned dining lounge for approximately 12 guests.
The Pavilion organizes tour packages for those wishing to explore the rich cultural heritage of the City of Jaffna and packages which reveal the historic wonders of one of Asia’s most exciting cities.
