Online PR News – 20-May-2010 – – TROY, MICHIGAN – Doeren Mayhew, a Troy-based certified public accounting and management consulting firm, announced today that, through MichBio, they are presenting informational sessions on the new Therapeutics Discovery Tax Credit.
The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (commonly referred to as the Health Reform Act) created a program of tax credits and tax-free grants to qualifying biotech firms – the Therapeutics Discovery Tax Credit. The program provides a maximum of $1 billion in tax credits and grants for expenditures necessary for and related to “qualifying therapeutic discovery projects.” If approved, a company will receive a tax credit or grant in the amount of 50% of qualified investments.
Doeren Mayhew will explain the new tax credit and assist businesses in determining how the credit relates to their specific situation.
