Filtrated Water to Be Featured Beverage in Eco-Conscious Event
Online PR News – 04-April-2013 – Reno, NV – Zuvo Water LLC, the global innovator of intelligent, Water filtration products which redefine the home hydration experience, will be the featured water provider promoting a “zero waste” and “no bottled water” eco- conscious lifestyle at the 4th Annual Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival.
The festival will be held April 13-14 in Aptos Village, CA. Zuvo Water will host a water bar where event participants can keep hydrated with Zuvo filtered tap water. The Zuvo system replicates nature’s water-cleansing process, reducing contaminants while preserving water's natural and healthy mineral content.
There will be no single use bottled water sales allowed at the Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival. Increasingly, bottled water bans are becoming common around the country at venues such as national parks (the Grand Canyon) to college campuses, as people become more conscious about the huge environmental and financial costs of the production and consumption of bottled water.
Zuvo Water is 100% committed to reducing the global consumption of bottled water and raising consciousness about the value of water. Usage of a Zuvo Water Filtration System to filter one’s tap water reduces the expense and waste of bottled water by not adding to the more than 60 million plastic water bottles that end up in landfills every year. Additionally, Zuvo Water is designed according to sustainability principles. Non-painted and BPA-free plastics were chosen for durability, health considerations, and recyclability.
In promoting a strategy of zero waste for the mountain bike festival, the event organizers hope to illustrate to its participants who are by and large enthusiasts of active outdoor lifestyles, that zero waste zones are important to ecological and economic environments. The best way to reduce waste is by source reduction, eliminating the amount of free goods and packaging at events. Vendors have been asked to minimize their packing materials at the show and pack out what they pack in. There will also be recycling and compost bins alongside trash bins at the food courts.
Created to celebrate the world class mountain bike facilities, riders, and cycling industry of Santa Cruz County, the mountain bike festival saw 50% increases in attendance and athlete participation in 2012 over the previous year. Over 6,000 spectators, 200 amateur and professional athletes, 200 kids’ rodeo participants, 70 sponsors, and 150 volunteers were a testament to the depth of the mountain bike culture in Santa Cruz County.
“We are thrilled to be a participant in the growing Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival and advocate for a world without bottled water,” said Andy Butler, CEO of Zuvo Water.
