Plaza Cadillac Showcases Latest CTS at New York International Auto Show

Online PR News – 04-April-2013 – Leesburg, Florida – The 2013 New York International Auto Show played host to the unveiling of the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS. According to Plaza Cadillac of Leesburg, Florida, the all-new CTS is based on the rear-drive architecture featured in the ATS sport sedan, which has won several awards for the Cadillac brand in the last few months.

“The all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan delivers crafted design, thrilling performance and sophisticated technology,” stated Bob Ferguson, vice president, Global Cadillac, in the official press release following the unveiling. “The car that has always been Cadillac’s centerpiece stretches figuratively and literally to challenge the world’s best.”

The 2014 model will run on one of three power engines: the 2.0-liter turbo, the 3.6-liter V6, or the 3.6-liter V6 Twin-Turbo. All engines are direct-injection and come with variable valve timing. The 2.0-liter turbo engine (when matched with the rear-wheel drive platform) gets a GM-estimated fuel economy of 30 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in the city. With all-wheel drive, it gets 28 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg in the city. The Twin-Turbo engine, paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission, is good for 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.

Performance, technology, and safety systems have all been enhanced for the 2014 model, as well. The CTS sedan, competing in the midsize luxury segment, is longer and lower this time around, and comes with Magnetic Ride Control (a real-time damping system) standard on all models. Also offered on the CTS is a wider grille and evolved signature vertical lighting elements. Drivers also receive active grille shutters and an improved interior—roomier and more ergonomic.

The CTS is lighter than all other cars in its class, coming in at 200 pounds less than the BMW 528i. Cadillac’s first-ever aluminum door structures contribute to this decrease in weight.

Ferguson concluded, “With Cadillac growing globally, driven by rising product credibility, the new CTS elevates the brand to a new level.”

Production will begin on the 2014 CTS this autumn in Lansing, Michigan. There is no word yet on when it will arrive at Plaza Cadillac.
