Online PR News – 02-April-2013 – Sedgefield, County Durham – Following the amazing response from its debut in September 2012, The Big Eco Show 2013 has been organised and will be held at the Centre for Life in Newcastle City Centre this April. The show aims to bring together businesses from across the region operating in low carbon and climate resilience economy. The show will focus on inspiring businesses on how to grow, thrive within the green economy.
One of the businesses that will be exhibiting at The Big Eco Show is Energy Friend; the North East’s 1st Accredited Independent Green Deal Advice Organisation, based in Sedgefield, County Durham.
Energy Friend specialises in delivering domestic energy and building surveys, recommending energy efficiency measures that could help to reduce household energy bills, under the Government’s New Flagship Energy Efficiency Scheme, The Green Deal.
Energy Friend have now launched their Green Deal Training Centre, offering specific training and accreditation needed to carry out Green Deal assessments and installations that will create sustainable and well-paid jobs within the region.
Managing Director, Colin Robinson, will be delivering a workshop introducing the North East Green Deal Installer Network. Energy Friend aims to build a North East Network of local, trusted and approved Green Deal Installers, whom can work together and build enough resources amongst them to compete against large national organisation, which will no doubt be moving into the Green Deal market very soon.
As people are becoming more aware of The Green Deal, its demand is significantly increasing, with over 1,800 Green Deal Assessments lodged in the first month of its launch, this February. Customers are now starting to move onto the next stage of the Green Deal process and requesting to get energy efficiency recommendations installed. Already Energy Friend have recommended near to 250 energy efficient recommendations in the North East, from the installations of boilers, to double glazing, to solar energy, creating an increased demand for qualified Green Deal Installers to carry out the work.
The purpose of the North East Green Deal Installer Network is to build a pool of trusted resources, in which customers can be referred to, to get their Green Deal recommendations installed, delivering more work for North East SME’s and overall lower energy bills for North East homes through the Green Deal.
Colin will deliver a workshop, introducing the Energy Friend Green Deal for Installers training course, which will consist of a 30 minute presentation on the benefits of joining the North East Network of Installers and a 30 minute Q&A session. Installers will also get the chance to sign up to the training course during the workshop and learn how membership can help to develop and increase their business.
