Premier maritime defence conference calls in at
Singapore's leading business event venue for the first time

Online PR News – 19-May-2010 – – 19 May 2010, Singapore. Asia's pre-eminent meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) venue is the berth for one of the region's most celebrated naval technology event on 19 and 20 May, as Singapore Expo hosts Defence Technology Asia (DTA) Conference & Exhibition 2010 for the first time. With an aim to address the needs of the navies through the creation of a unique platform for procurement agencies, R&D organisations, operators and technologists to exchange industry know-how and share experiences, DTA 2010 will see private meetings and B2B interactions happening alongside the main Conference and Exhibition all under one roof at Expo.

The Exhibition sees organisations with relevant naval products, strategies and solutions showcasing how they can meet and surpass the objectives of the maritime defence forces both local and foreign. The companion Conference features speakers tackling pertinent issues surrounding the ever-changing naval defence domain through presentations and panel discussions centred upon three themes, namely, Naval Surface Ships, Submarine and ASW as well as Unmanned Vehicles and Systems.

Rear Admiral Chew Men Leong, Chief of Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy, is the Guest-of-Honour for DTA 2010, while keynote speakers at the Conference include Rear Admiral Onofrio Flagiello, Chief of Office, SEGREDIFESA, Italian Ministry of Defence; Dr François-Régis Martin-Lauzer, RADM (FRA N Eng. Corps, Res.) Director, NATO Underwater Rese; Rear Admiral (Eng.) Jacques Cousquer, Technical Director (Naval), Délégation Générale Pour l'Armement, France; and Captain (N) Jonas Haggren, Commanding Officer 1st Submarine Flotilla, FMV, Swedish Armed Forces. Together with forty other international naval defence experts from France, India, Italy, Sweden and the US, they are delivering world-class case studies and expound on breakthrough research findings.

Expo – your trusted venue partner for an all-rounded business affair

Expo's multitude of capabilities, from flexible infrastructural features to creative and professional event services, often means that organisers can hold both the Conference and Exhibition in the same location, with the versatility to expand with freedom. DTA 2010 is yet another fine example of Expo's expertise, including the facilitation of the seamless movement of delegates and VIPs as well as the efficient securing of the entire venue for an event of such exclusivity and scale. Intimate discussions and business matching sessions would also be easily accommodated, thereby helping to maximise the exposure of the exhibitors' products and services and ensuring fruitful meetings.

Says Mr Chandran Nair, Deputy General Manager of Singex Venues Pte Ltd, the managing company of Expo, “As an integrated venue solutions provider with eleven years of industry experience, Expo is able to ensure that DTA 2010 exhibitors, conference delegates and trade visitors can interact and discuss the latest in naval technology with senior members of key organisations from around the world in a holistic environment. We are delighted to be a part of the growing regional naval defence sector through the provision of creative and versatile business venue services for the prestigious DTA.”
