Midwest Superstore was excited to see the edgy new design of the 2014 Highlander at the New York Auto Show.
Online PR News – 01-April-2013 – Hutchinson, Kansas – The Toyota Highlander has been around for almost 13 years, and has stayed relatively the same throughout this time. Now however, Toyota has decided to bring it back to life by refreshing the Highlander for the 2014 model year. Midwest Superstore, serving the Wichita, Kansas area was excited to see its debut at the 2013 New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, March 27th.
In addition to the New York International Auto Show debut, one photo was leaked of the new Highlander. It seems to have the same structural bones with some new design elements. The headlights are swept back into the hood. The front fascia and hood have more intricate detailing with sharp lines and deep curves. The grille also stands out with a chrome outline.
Since the Highlander is one of Toyota’s best kept secrets, not much is known about the power under its newly redesigned hood. However, automotive experts at Motor Trend believe it will house the 1-4, V6 and V6 hybrid carry over powertrains. Hopefully they will see a few tweaks in fuel efficiency and power in order to be competitive in this gas driven world.
The refresh could not come at a more important time, as the crossover segment gets increasingly more crowded every year. It will compete against other crossovers such as the Chevy Traverse, Honda Pilot and Kia Sorento. This boost in design and hopefully technology will create greater appeal in the crossover market segment.
The 2014 Highlander made its debut alongside several other new Toyota models, including the 2013 Corolla S and LE special editions on Wednesday, March 27th. They will be showcased to the public at the Jacob Javits Center on the Galleria Level Four from March 29th to April 7th. The staff at Midwest Superstore can’t wait to find out all the details about the 2014 Highlander.
