Premier Toyota South Coast Announces Latest Donation to Sandy Relief
04/01/2013

Toyota has made a donation of nineteen vehicles to the Red Cross, as well as one to a church, to aid in continued relief for Sandy victims.

Online PR News – 01-April-2013 – Fall Rivers, MA – Toyota recently announced that it will make another vehicle donation to aid those still suffering from the wrath of Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the east coast more than four months ago. According to a representative from Premier Toyota South Coast, the donation amounts to more than $100,000.
Nineteen vehicles will go to the American Red Cross for relief transportation for an entire year. On top of that, Toyota is donating an all-new 4Runner SUV to Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, which is located in Bay Head, New Jersey. This 4Runner will aid in transportation, as well as local cleanup.
Last year, Toyota donated $1,000,000, as well as five vehicles, to Sandy relief.
“Studies show that national crisis donations taper off after five months. A donation like this from Toyota not only provides us with great relief aid, but also reassures our community that our needs aren’t going unnoticed or unmet,” said Scott Bostwick, the recipient church’s pastor.
Red Cross was also grateful. Nancy Orlando, regional CEO, American Red Cross South Jersey Region, stated, “American Red Cross disaster recovery efforts are ongoing across multiple states affected by Superstorm Sandy, including our efforts here in counties from the northern edge to the southern tip of New Jersey. We’re thrilled to have this fleet of Toyota vehicles, a generous donation that will enable the Red Cross to move manpower and resources more efficiently throughout affected regions.”
Steve Haag, assistant general manager for Toyota’s New York region, offered his comments on the donation: “We understand the ongoing need for Hurricane Sandy relief aid and we want to make sure the community knows they are still being supported four months after the disaster.”
