The 2014 Honda Odyssey, featuring innovative new technologies like the HondaVAC, was revealed this week in New York City.
Online PR News – 30-March-2013 – Vallejo, CA – The 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan, which features an updated design and several innovative new family-based technologies, was unveiled on Tuesday, March 27th as part of the New York Auto show.
Among the new additions to the Odyssey is the HondaVAC, the automobile industry’s first in-vehicle vacuum cleaner system. Available exclusively with the Odyssey Touring Elite trim, the HondaVAC will feature a full power vacuum, replaceable filters and a hose with attachments that reach every corner of the minivan. The HondaVAC adds to the Odyssey’s family-friendliness, allowing for quick and easy clean-ups for spills and messes.
"The Odyssey is already the leader in its segment, and for 2014, Honda has made the modern family hauler even better," said Michael Accavitti, an American Honda spokesperson. "Honda is once again showcasing its reputation for innovation with HondaVAC, and its ability to provide true value to our customers."
Other new features for the 2014 Odyssey include a 7-inch audio touch screen with an HD radio, HondaLink technology and a remote entry system. The Odyssey’s headlamps, mirrors and wheels have also been redesigned for style and performance.
The Odyssey has also been updated with a redesigned structure, tailored to meet standards for the recently-introduced Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating. Additional technological advancements include Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, adding to the overall safety of the vehicle.
The New York Auto Show opens to the public on Friday, March 29th and runs through Sunday, April 7th. Other new Honda cars on display at the show include the 2013 Fit EV and the 2014 Accord Plug-In Hybrid.
