ST. CLOUD, FL – In a town where barbeque dominates the menus of most restaurants, Meat n Fire has crafted a specialty restaurant by offering a variety of meats all slowly smoked to perfection. Meat n Fire maintains the tradition of barbeque, but also provides guests with more options when they are craving southern fare.
“After years of smoking meat for friends and family as a hobby, I decided to try my hand at the Florida competition BBQ circuit. Meat n Fire was realized out of that experience,” said Phil Downs, pit master and Meat N Fire owner.
Meat n Fire offers melt-in-your-mouth smoked brisket, pulled chicken and chopped pork all slow smoked to perfection. At Meat n Fire, enjoy some family favorites, including the Carolina Pig – chopped pork topped with cole slaw, and the Cracker Cowboy made with smoked brisket and topped with onion slivers, jalapenos and cheddar cheese.
Don’t forget about the delicious homemade sides. Meat n Fire offers more than a dozen fresh country sides, including collard greens, fried okra, sweet potato soufflé, French fries, cornbread and much more. Sandwiches are served with two sides and dinners include three sides and a biscuit or cornbread.
The restaurant will serve sweet tea and soft drinks. Beer and wine will be added to the menu soon.
Don’t worry, your sweet tooth won’t be left unsatisfied. At Meat n Fire choose from fresh pies, delectable cakes and other treats made daily.
How it all started
Meat n Fire was born out of the love of an old southern tradition of family time around the dinner table and enjoying good food and each other.
According to Downs, the inspiration for his restaurant was the memory of his father’s BBQ from an open pit smoker and his mother’s homemade fresh southern vegetables and her homemade biscuits – all prepared with love and devotion to family and friends.
