One More Page Books Hosts Author Talk and Book Signing for Timber Hawkeye

Local independent Arlington, VA, bookstore and Arlington County library welcome author of Buddhist Boot Camp

Online PR News – 12-March-2013 – Arlington, VA – One More Page Books, an independent, neighborhood-oriented bookstore, presents an evening with Timber Hawkeye on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 7 pm, at the Arlington Central Library located at 1015 North Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22201. Hawkeye discusses and signs Buddhist Boot Camp, his collection of stories and teachings offering mindfulness-enhancing techniques. This event is open to the public and admission is free.

A longtime student of world religion, Buddhism, and psychology, Timber Hawkeye sought out less complicated depictions of the Buddha’s teachings than those taught by Tibetan temples and Zen monasteries. Believing that people are more interested in positive inspirations and motivations rather than ceremonies and rituals, he envisioned a book that would empower readers to not necessarily be Buddhist, but rather a Buddha, through gratitude and a consistent goal to be compassionate and kind.

The idea behind Hawkeye’s Buddhist Boot Camp combines boot camp – a training method for the body - with Buddhism -- a training method for the mind. Geared for our generation’s short attention span, the chapters in Buddhist Boot Camp are short, simple and easy to understand – yet thought-provoking – and can be read in any order. Each story, inspirational quote and teaching offers mindfulness-enhancing techniques that are relatable to anyone, regardless of their religion.
