EcoDiesel 2014 Ram 1500 comes to Rothrock CDJR this Fall

Ram is gaining a competitive advantage with the new 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, which will hit Rothrock CDJR’s showroom floor this fall.

Online PR News – 12-March-2013 – ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania – ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania - The introduction of Ram’s new EcoDiesel engine in the 2014 Ram 1500 will mark the first half-ton truck ever to be sold with a diesel engine. This new technology will be a gateway for the Ram 1500 into markets looking for diesel power without going into the full-ton truck category. Many industry insiders are calling this “game-changing technology”. The 2014 Ram 1500 will be available at Rothrock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram ( this fall.

Fred Diaz, President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico, Chrysler Group LLC, commented on the new EcoDiesel engine in an interview with Chrysler, “Truck owners have been emphatically asking for it, and Ram will be the only manufacturer to offer a diesel powertrain in the half-ton segment with the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. The half-ton truck market is incredibly competitive, and although we’re honored the Ram 1500 has received a number of prestigious awards, we cannot rest on what we have accomplished, we must keep pushing.”

Push is exactly what they did with the 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. It continues to raise the standards in the half-ton truck segment by delivering best in class fuel economy, best-in-class torque and impressive capability with a diesel engine. Exact specifications have not been released, but the engine is expected to put up similar numbers to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which puts out 240 horsepower and 420-pound feet of torque.

For those environmentally conscious drivers, the V6 EcoDiesel is one of the most advanced diesel engines around. It produces 60 percent less emissions, including CO2 emissions, and is 30 percent more fuel-efficient, getting an estimated 30 mpg highway. However, this does not affect the trucks capability since it is expected to tow around 7,500 pounds.

The 2014 Ram 1500 will be the first light-duty pickup to offer a diesel engine, Chrysler hopes this gives Ram a competitive advantage over the competition and will draw in new consumers that may not have chosen a Ram before. Customers will be able to test drive the diesel 2014 Ram 1500 this fall at Rothrock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
