NEW FOOD ALLERGY & ANAPHYLAXIS ADVOCACY COUNCIL ENCOURAGES YOU TO JOIN FORCES & TAKE THE PLEDGE
March 11, 2013. (Branford, CT)— The National Allergy &Anaphylaxis Council has announced the launch of their new organization serving the food allergy & anaphylaxis community. 15 million Americans have food allergy, 9 million adults, and 6 million children. Food allergies can be life-threatening and there is no cure. The increase in the number of people living with allergy & anaphylaxis has created a need for an organization that can provide a vehicle for people to voice their concerns on a national level. The NAAC is to be an “advocacy hub” for the allergy & anaphylaxis community. They have created an interactive space for people to voice their concerns. In turn, the NAAC leadership council will advocate for common goals on a national level.
Gina Lee, Director and Co-Founder of the National Allergy & Anaphylaxis Council, says, “Food allergy and anaphylaxis are a true concern for millions of Americans. There have been great strides in the community to help in many areas, however, the NAAC is filling a critical void. All people affected by allergy & anaphylaxis need to have an equal voice. By establishing the NAAC, we are creating a space for these voices to be heard. Additionally, we are providing a way in which advocates from across the country can work together to achieve our common goal of safety and inclusion for those affected by allergy & anaphylaxis.”
The National Allergy & Anaphylaxis Council encourages all people, groups and individuals of the allergy & anaphylaxis community to join the NAAC by “Taking the Pledge". Once you take the pledge, your name will be added to the pledge wall. All information can be found on the newly launched Anaphylaxis Council Website, www.AnaphylaxisCouncil.org.
