The integration of a small LCD screen, a pair of precision tweezers, and a highly accurate LCR meter, Smart Tweezers' newest model, the ST5, features designated ESR measurements, continuity and diode testing, and component sorting with an estimated 6 times higher accuracy than previous models. Unlike conventional bench-type testers, Smart Tweezers only requires one hand for evaluating components, and little to no setting up. The 2 oz. unit offers the high accuracy measurements and speed of bench-type testers when evaluating all types of passive SMT and through-hole devices, including the secondary parameters, such as the Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) of a capacitor.
With a patented mechatronic design, Smart Tweezers has very low and well defined parasitics. Using the offset subtraction feature, these parasitics are easily eliminated while testing components, allowing the device to measure capacitance and resistance as low as 1 milliohm and 1 picofarad range. It is also able to measure as low as a fraction of a microhenry, making it indispensable for use in radio electronics.
Smart Tweezers have gained the reputation as a professional quality tool, and is extremely useful for in-circuit and on-board impedance testing, PCB debugging, and SMT component sorting.
