Future Electronics is offering an AudioStreamer( http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/technologies/development-tools/analog-power/Pages/5025438-EEP115.aspx ) Micro-Blox rapid proof-of-concept development system for OEMs designing digital audio equipment. Launched in partnership with Freescale Semiconductor, Wolfson Microelectronics, NIC and Micrel, the AudioStreamer Micro-Blox development board is available exclusively through Future Electronics, and includes the capability to decode FLAC (at 192/24), MP3 and WAV audio files, while capturing audio using the SPEEX encoder. The system can stream at full audio bandwidth via Ethernet, USB or the SD card socket.
This new development board features an ARM Cortec-M4 microcontroller with audio decompression software, a choice of high-end and low-cost DACs, a codec, low noise power supplies, Ethernet plus digital and analog microphones. Using the board's free PC-based graphical user interface, which connects to the board via USB, developers can start recording and playing back audio files in just five minutes.
