ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC ARTIST ‘FITS OF GENIUS’ DEBUTS NEW SONG "SAY" MARCH 8, 2013 - a song that reminds us of the power of our words.

Online PR News – 07-March-2013 – New York, NY – Do not be misled by the bouncing beat and computer-altered voices of the downtempo debut of New York City’s latest electronic music producer Fits of Genius (Brian O’Donnell). The current track, “Say”, is a melancholic cautionary tale. Says O’Donnell, “How many times have you said something in haste you didn’t mean? I know I have many times and this song is a reminder to think about the power of our words.” “Say” is available now for FREE at www.fitsofgenius.com. A higher quality single is also for sale at the same website which includes music stems for remixing, an instrumental track, and a commentary track all available today (March 6, 2013). The single will be available on iTunes, Amazon and other online retailers on Friday, March 8, 2013.

“Say” is the first release by O’Donnell under the moniker Fits of Genius. The track is a brilliant introduction to the Fits of Genius melancholic style and credo. “If you can listen to the same song on different days and have completely different experiences, then I have done my job,” explains O’Donnell. The debut song features sparse lyrical arrangements that break traditional song structure -- allowing the listener to fill in the gaps.

“Say” is anchored with a heavy beat and bass that can easily fit into a hip hop track. It has been dusted with ambient synth embellishments and arpeggios with a vocal delivery that blends O’Donnell’s unique voice with a downtuned robotic version. “I like to treat vocals like any other instrument and play with their texture and timbre,” says O’Donnell about “Say” and other tracks on his forthcoming self-titled debut.

O’Donnell ascends from the world of writing, producing and engineering pop music. As Fits of Genius he is breaking all the rules. His inspiration reigns from artists such as Depeche Mode, The Pet Shop Boys and Peter Gabriel.
