The new Driver Assist feature by Cadillac helps drivers navigate their way through everyday road hazards.

Online PR News – 07-March-2013 – Indianapolis, IN – Lockhart Cadillac is proud to let everyone know about the new Driver Assist technology offered by Cadillac. This technology will helps drivers like never before, helping them navigate through everyday driving issues.

“The mall parking packed with cars making it difficult to see what’s coming, or the parking deck at work, or the stop and go of a freeway commute – these are hassles that drivers navigate every day,” said James Bell, General Motors head of consumer affairs.

Cadillac’s Driver Assist uses cameras, radar, ultrasonic sensors and automatic braking to help make traffic situations safer. During certain low speed conditions, the car can even brake automatically, helping to prevent collisions.

Driver Assist comes with many features that make it so dependable. The first is Full
Speed Adaptive Cruise Control. This feature takes cruise control to a new level, helping manage the car’s acceleration and braking automatically from a set cruising speed down to a full stop, while maintaining a safe distance from objects in front of it.

Another feature of Driver Assist is the Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Safety Alert Seat. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert scans areas around the car, while the Safety Alert Seat warns the driver of approaching traffic by using vibrations to tell the driver which side the oncoming traffic is coming from.

Rear Vision Camera with Dynamic Guidelines let the driver view objects directly behind the vehicle while in reverse. The driver uses an eight inch monitor on the center stack to see what is behind the car. Red and yellow guidelines appear on the display, marking the turn radius of the vehicle.

Automatic Front and Rear Braking will automatically apply the brakes if it detects a vehicle to close to the car in the front or rear.

The Forward Collision Alert feature uses the Safety Alert Seat to notify the driver if the vehicle is approaching a stationary object or another vehicle too quickly. If this happens, the Safety Alert Seat will vibrate both sides of the driver’s seat.
Cadillac’s new Driver Assist helps ease the everyday hassles of a daily commute. Currently, Driver Assist is only available on the Cadillac ATS, XTS, and SRX.
