Javier Piazuelo

The poker player member of the Team770 won de Full Tilt Poker Series Spain. The member of the Team770 has already won several other tournaments and is the best Spanish poker player of the year.

Online PR News – 13-May-2010 – – Over the course of three days, on the beautiful backdrop of the Peralada Casino, actually a gorgeous Castle in the Pyrenees, 128 players paid € 1,500 to dispute this prestigious tourney. For a change the name of the winner didn't take anyone by surprise, in fact it was highly anticipated by the end of day 2 when "Pizu" the booming star with Team770 ended the day as the chip leader almost tripling the second player, with about four times the average chip count.

On day 3 there were just 12 remaining players, and Javier took care of most of them, including the FullTilt Pro Raul "El Toro" Paez. This knock down meant some extra money as the 'red pro' was having a bounty worth the entry to the next tournament in the series. Mr. Piazuelo, most know as 'Pizu' in the poker circuit, has shown an outstanding table control throughout the whole day 3, only loosing momentarily the lead in favor of the Italian Massimiliano Lupi (Editor of the Italian version of CardPlayer) who eventually became second.

Javier played at the Barcelona Casino - his home town – and won a large number of victories in local events. But it hasn't been until 2010, when he signed up with Team 770, the professional poker team sponsored by Poker770 that he started to realize his full potential. Coincidentally the Spanish Poker Championship (CEP by its Spanish spelling) took place at the very same casino and Javier ended up in second position. Then he took part at the second stage of the CEP with another cash, after winning a third place one weekend ago on the third stop in these series, all this making him the current leader towards becoming the Spanish Poker Champion 2010. With tonight's victory "Pizu" is, so far, the best Spaniard player of the year in live winnings with over €100,000 in the four first months of the year.

Now it's time for some rest and celebration, but rumor has it that Mr. Piazuelo will make it to Las Vegas to challenge the WSOP, but before that he has committed to share part of today's prize pool with his fans at an upcoming tournament at Poker 770, everyone is invited!
