The awards are granted to honor staffers for their outstanding contributions to skilled nursing facilities. Awards are given in the following categories: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, and the “Hearts & Hands” award for non-nursing/non-managerial staff.
“All three of these amazing women bring so much to our residents and to their fellow staff members; we are so thrilled to have their efforts recognized,” said Elant at Wappingers Falls Executive Director Dana Diorio-Casey. “They all play vital roles in making our campus such a strong community for those in need of nursing care and rehabilitation.”

“Lynn truly cares not only for the residents, but treats her staff as if they were her own family,” said a staff member who nominated Lynn for the award.
“The families trust her, the staff depend on her, and the residents love him/her,” said another staffer.
“She came to my house, taught me and the other caregivers how to do specific tasks, and became an integral part of our household,” said a family member who nominated Darlene. “She acted in the capacity of confidant, friend, therapist, spiritual guide and entertainer, and when (my husband) died, she was truly heartbroken, as we all were.”
“Sonia is a team player whose high energy level earns her the respect of her peers. It is truly a pleasure to work with Sonia and we would be lost without her,” said a staff member who nominated Sonia for the award.
