Angie’s Jewelry Design jewelry will will be gifted to select members of the press and media at GBK’s Gift Lounge for the 2013 Academy Awards and has been selected for use on HBO's True Blood.

Online PR News – 14-February-2013 – Winter Garden, Florida – Angie’s Jewelry Design will be gifted to select members of the press and media at GBK’s Gift Lounge for the 2013 Academy Awards, February 22-23, 2013 in Beverly Hills, CA., and has been selected for use on HBO's True Blood.

At the Gift Lounge, Howard will have her one-of-a-kind hand-cut stone and copper wire-wrapped Ohio Flint Necklaces included in press swag bags. The GBK Gift Lounge takes place February 22-23, 2013 at an exclusive location in Beverly Hills, California.

Howard chose to create Ohio Flint pendants for the GBK Gift Lounge for several reasons. First, it is the official state gemstone of her home state of Ohio. Also, it is well suited to a highly polished finish and has enough character to make each pendant different from the next. Finally, Howard notes, “The pattern and colors change throughout each stone – I love to see what’s next!”

Howard is also coming off several successful gifting opportunities with The Artisan Group. Most recently wardrobe stylist Audrey Fisher selected Howard’s "Montana Jade & Copper Necklace” for use during Season 6 of HBO’s “True Blood,” which premieres in June. Howard had her work introduced to the stylist via The Artisan Group’s (www.theartisangroup.org) Stylist Gift Bag initiative.

Jordin Sparks, Tyra Banks and Amy Poehler have also been on the receiving end of Howard’s artistry, having been gifted pendants made from hand-cut and wire-wrapped Purple Sugalite, Ohio Flint and Agate, respectively. Howard also participated in GBK's 2012 MTV Movie Awards Luxury Gift Lounge.

Howard’s One-of-a-kind jewelry is bold and elegant. Her deft use of natural stones, which she cuts and wire wraps by hand, distinguishes her pieces. “Cutting stones is time-consuming and not for the faint of heart. Even though I study the stone carefully before beginning the cutting process, it can still break. Or a new pattern may suggest itself, which can mean starting over with a different design concept.”

About Angie's Jewelry Design
About Angie Howard and Angie’s Jewelry Design
Angie Howard is the owner of Angie’s Jewelry Design (http://www.angiesjewelrydesign.com), established in 2007. She is a self-taught jeweler who participates in invitational juried art festivals in Florida and the surrounding states. In addition, she sells her jewelry on her website.

Howard began studying jewelry making and lapidary after visits to Hong Kong exposed her to the jade markets and a variety of beautiful jewelry where stones were the focal point. Her passion only increased with trips to China and Tibet, where she was able to add unusual specimens to her collection, including agates from near Mt. Everest and white jade acquired in Nanjing.

Howard works out of her home studio/workshop, surrounded by lots and lots of rocks. Her arsenal of equipment goes far beyond the typical jeweler’s band saw and torch to include a 10” and 6” round diamond saws and a cabbing machine with 6, 1-1/2” diamond wheels.

Prior to establishing herself as a full-time jeweler, Howard led live entertainment production teams at a large theme park organization in Central Florida, where she produced everything from stage shows to fireworks spectaculars. Her other passion is theatre. She was active in theatre for many years and has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Theatre Management from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Howard is a member of the Central Florida Gem and Mineral Society and The Artisan Group, an exclusive celebrity gifting group that she became involved with through a word of mouth referral.
