Online PR News – 06-February-2013 – Portland, Oregon – PORTLAND, Oregon, February 4, 2013 – Sword and sorcery collides with the ruins of a cataclysmic world left broken and bleeding by its gods in Torn Armor, the fantasy game that expands the horizon of the miniature scene. A Kickstarter campaign to support this innovative skirmish-style board game launches on March 3, 2013.
What makes Torn Armor different from the rest? Torn Armor is a low-cost, easy-to-play game designed for 2-4 players with factions and game rules that bring each player's personality and motivations to the board. Armor focuses on diverse factions, exquisitely crafted miniatures, and swift gameplay that will have even the newest gamer ready to start in moments. Multiple customization options are offered through customizable factions, spell cards, magical item cards, hero units and avatar units. Each session of Torn Armor will be an experience unlike any other.
The creative team behind Torn Armor has decades of game design experience and has worked on such diverse projects from roleplaying games to fantasy novels to comic books. Creator-cartographer Alyssa Faden said of the experience, "I've had the good fortune to work with industry ‘faces’ and ‘names’ over the years and have gotten to know all manners of very talented people. When the idea for Torn Armor was conceived, it was natural to reach out to these same people and bring them onboard." The talent assembled for the project brings freshness and diversity to Torn Armor, both in the design of game mechanics and the hundreds of color illustrations and miniatures that are a part of the finished project.
Backers of the Kickstarter campaign will be able to both support the game and become a part of it. Throughout the course of the campaign, Faden plans to engage the roleplaying community by offering contests that will allow lucky winners to contribute content to the final version of Torn Armor.
